Pictures of the Posh City

Lady in the park. She was covered in gold. It was pretty. So I took a picture.

Walking through White Hall. Which actually burned down. I also have the changing of the guards there. Which isn't all that exciting. Except I almost got run down by a guard. Apparently if you get in their way they just try to walk over you.

West Minster (Not Minister, but I can't pronounce it any other way).

Big Ben Inside St. Stephen's Tower. Yeah. Not actually the name of the tower. Just the bells.

Actually in London

Hello Hello!
I finally found Internet after a long LONG few days attempting to find an internet cafe. Thank baby jesus my roommate and I found a Library close to our classroom.
First impressions: Gorgeous, darling. But for serious. The weather has not been above 75 degrees (I'm still in F).
Also, public Transit i.e. the TUBE. We need one. Seattle would be easy as pie to navigate with an underground system like the one in London. Why the heck didn't the city planners just build a flippin' Tube?
Sights: we went out yesterday. Kind of. Imagine seeing the entirety of London in a 3 hour trip following the quickest old man I have ever met in my life. I sprinted through London. Past Buckingham palace, White Hall, through Oxford Street, past the numerous squares, through the British Museum (literally through, we did not look we started at the back where we discussed the architectural significance and then sprinted through to the front to once again discuss the architectural aspects of the building.), to West Minister Abbey then Parliament where we came to Big Ben which is not actually the tower... just the bells. Who da thunk? Then to Piccadilly Circus and finally Covent Garden. Jolly good.
Also, I think this is the first time I have ever had to repeat myself because someone "couldn't understand my silly accent."
Alright, loves, I need to do some mo' exploring.
Cheers!

They're from England...

This is more than just cuteness. I am teaching myself a proper English Accent. I need to fit in when I'm there otherwise I'll attract petty thieves (this is according to my Study Abroad coordinator). The more I can do to fit in the better. So, I'm going to dress like ginger spice and scream "Charlie, bit me!""girl power!" and other random phrases (such as: Cheerios gov'na! Bloody hell, where is the bloomin' Lou? Oh poppy cosh. Spot o' tea?) on the tube. In order to blend. I might also sing a round or two of Good King Wenceslas.
British Chamelion.

I'm Going To London?

Yes, it's true.

I will be departing from PDX (that's the Portland Airport) on July 24th and returning on August 29th... ish.
While in London I'll be earning 15 credits. It's a normal B-term thang.
The function of this blog will be to keep in contact with ya'll back in the states. Hopefully I'll be able to find a place to get my internet on.
I'll still be checking e-mail but not as frequently. Because I'll be in London.
Don't worry, I'll take pictures.
If you find that your life is not complete without me, or if you find yourself going through Brittany-Withdrawals: It'll be okay! I will be sending postcards and what-not.
You know what would make me smile? If I got a letter from YOU!
To do this you will need my address:

Brittany Lichty
C/O Mrs. S. Honour
24 Mansfiel Avenue
Barnet, Hertfordshire EN4 8QD UK

Also, feel free to TXT me. Just don't call 'cause it's 'spensive and I probably wont answer. Unless you are my parents.
